Welcome to University Publications
Fairfield University Magazine is a quarterly magazine whose primary mission is to foster a sense of pride, loyalty, and connectedness between the University and its alumni - who are the primary audience of the magazine - by reporting on issues of importance to them and all other constituents. To promote these ties and create well-informed ambassadors, the magazine aims to publish credible articles about the University and its alumni, and give a faithful picture of what it is like to be a Fairfield student today.
To that end, we seek story ideas from deans, faculty, alumni, advancement, and other administrators, and create a balance in each issue that highlights the distinctiveness of our Jesuit identity. Features and news briefs attempt to reflect the intellectual liveliness, "real-world" education, and commitment to service that are among Fairfield's distinctions as a Jesuit university.
Because of the long deadlines associated with a magazine, it is the place to reflect on recent events rather than promote upcoming activities or announce late-breaking news. The magazine, which accepts no external paid advertising, serves as an indirect tool to help admission and advancement meet their enrollment and philanthropic goals. It is distributed to alumni, parents, donors, potential friends of the University, trustees, and employees.
News@Fairfield, updated weekly, features University news, including news about faculty scholarship, student activities, athletics, the arts, alumni features, and more. The site also features feeds from the events calendar and the most recent University news releases and media articles about Fairfield, along with news and information of particular interest to University employees, as well as scrolling Facebook and Twitter updates.
The Stag Spotlight is Fairfield University's news and features web journal, aimed at spotlighting the people, programs, and possibilities at Fairfield. The journal focuses on news from the schools as well as other Fairfield stories of interest to our web audience.
On a weekly publishing schedule during the academic year, The Stag Spotlight's flexible publishing schedule allows contributors from across the University to publish stories that are timely and unique to the web, and that reflect Fairfield's active and collaborative campus community. Features may include event coverage from a student perspective, constituent testimonials and profiles, collaborative faculty blogging on location, photo slideshow recaps, video reflections, and more.
Student, faculty, alumni, and staff contributors are encouraged to submit their stories and photos about their Fairfield experience for consideration of publication - filling The Stag Spotlight with the voices of Fairfield.
