Residential Colleges seek mentors

Here at Fairfield, one of the major ways we support our students in their own growth and development is through mentoring. Mentors are there to be present, create a safe and trusting space, facilitate "real" discussions and reflections among students, and offer their own perspectives and struggles about living an authentic life. Insurance Waiver reminder

The Health Center would like to remind parents that all full-time undergraduate students are required to have health insurance and that students are automatically enrolled into the Student Accident and Sickness plan offered by Gallagher Koster unless the student completes an online waiver form. The form can be found at www.gallagherkoster.com/fairfield by clicking on "Student Waive." Failure to waive the insurance will result in a charge of $995 to the student’s bill. The deadline to waive is August 15.

Residence Life updates

Residence hall closings: All halls close on Friday, May 13 at 6 p.m. for non-graduating students. Graduating seniors must move out by noon on Monday, May 23. There are no exceptions to the schedule, so please plan accordingly.

Important reminder about leases: Students should not sign off-campus leases until released off campus. For their own protection, students are advised not to sign a lease until after they have confirmed release from Fairfield University’s four-year housing requirement. If a student signs a lease and is not released by Fairfield University to live off campus, Fairfield University has no obligation to honor the lease the student signed, or to otherwise accommodate any contractual residential relationships they enter into. In other words, students who sign leases prior to being released do so at their own risk.

Commencement housing: The Office of Residence Life will provide housing for parents of graduating seniors. Please contact the office for details at (203) 254-4215 or e-mail residencelife@fairfield.edu.

Summer housing: The Office of Residence Life provides summer housing for students taking a class or internship. Please contact the office for details at (203) 254-4215 or e-mail residencelife@fairfield.edu.

Support Fairfield

Special Message to Parents

Both of our children have had wonderful experiences at Fairfield University, excelled in their studies, and made lifelong friendships. Fairfield has prepared Michael ’10 and Kristen ’12 for a great future.

Please join us in making a donation to the Parents’ Fund and help support your child’s experience and education at Fairfield University. Parents of graduating seniors can celebrate their son’s or daughter’s upcoming graduation by making a gift in his or her honor.

Simply supply the full name of the honoree in the Notes section of the online giving form. A special message will be sent to your child to let them know that a gift has been made in their honor.

Thank you and best wishes,

Tom and Laura Bona P’12, P’10

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Student Spotlight:
Maria Clinton '13

Hometown: Peekskill, New York

Major: Double major in Communications and Television

I chose Fairfield because...
it is far enough away that I don’t feel like I never left home and close enough that when I miss the comforts of my cozy house and family I’m just a train ride away. The beautiful campus grounds also enchanted me while the welcoming small-sized classes made me feel very comfortable.
