Fairfield falls in tight contest with Kent State

The Fairfield Stags 2010-11 record-setting season came to a close, Sunday afternoon, March 20, in Bridgeport, with a 72-68 loss to Kent State, the Mid-American Conference regular season champion, in second round action of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

This year the Stags' season drew attention on many fronts. The Fairfield men won the regular season championship; broke a school record with 25 wins, celebrated their 1st NIT win since 1973, and was ranked second in NCAA Division I scoring defense stats, allowing only 57.8 points per game. In addition, former head coach Ed Cooley was named Coach of the Year for the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference.

The American College Health Association has released new guidelines for college students based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control. Please review your student's immunization history and arrange for a booster if needed. STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Student Spotlight:
Brian Seminara '11

Hometown: Lenox, MA

Major: Computer Engineering with Math and Physics minors

I chose Fairfield because...
I was originally unsure as to whether I wanted an engineering or business degree. I choose Fairfield because I liked the strong core background it gives students, the small class sizes (no huge lecture classes as at some engineering schools), and all classes are taught by professors.
