Fairfield University Bookstore

'Fairfield University Bookstore' to fill void left in downtown

When Borders Books & Music Store closed its Post Road location in Fairfield, the decision was felt deeply throughout the community. Fairfield University announced July 6 that a new bookstore will open in the prime, anchor store site, located at 1499 Post Road, one complete with the advantages and resources consumers expect from a premier retail bookstore, and more.

The general-purpose bookstore, to be named the "Fairfield University Bookstore," is anticipated to open in early October. "We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to bring a full-scale bookstore and cafe back to the center of the Town of Fairfield," said Fairfield University President Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx, S.J. "It is our hope that the store will serve as a meeting place and a destination for residents and guests." Read more

The form can be found at www.gallagherkoster.com/fairfield by clicking on "Student Waive." Failure to waive the insurance will result in a charge of $995 to the student's bill. The deadline to waive is August 15.

Residence Life updates

Important reminder about leases: Students should not sign off-campus leases until released off campus. For their own protection, students are advised not to sign a lease until after they have confirmed release from Fairfield University's four-year housing requirement. If a student signs a lease and is not released by Fairfield University to live off campus, Fairfield University has no obligation to honor the lease the student signed, or to otherwise accommodate any contractual residential relationships they enter into. In other words, students who sign leases prior to being released do so at their own risk. Read more
