Music Production
All students participate in world, jazz and traditional music classes, and/or performing ensembles. Hands-on training in our state-of-the art Media Center's recording studios and labs gives students the necessary preparation for careers in the music industry. Students in the Music Production concentration will focus on the technology side of music and take:
MU 101 - History of Jazz
MU 102 - History and Development of Rock
MU 113 - Introduction to Piano (if piano is not your primary instrument)
MU 122 - World Music Ensemble
MU 156 - Introduction to MIDI
MU 157 - Introduction to the Music Industry
MU 158 - Introduction to Recording Techniques
MU 201 - Digital Audio Workstation (new Spring 2009)
Digital Mastering, Tracking & Editing, Songwriting (proposed for Fall 2009)
Senior year, students are expected to work on an independent project in collaboration with film students from New Media, MU 310/311.
