Music Facilities
Jogues: located on the lower floor of the Jogues residence hall are a classroom/rehearsal room/informal performance space with a Steinway baby grand piano; 2 rehearsal rooms, and a computer lab with 12 stations for MIDI, recording techniques, music technology, piano lab, and anything else we think of!
Teaching Spaces: All our teaching spaces, in Jogues, Canisius, and Donnarumma, are equipped with state of the art audio and visual equipment. Fairfield University is a beta-tester of Apple's itunes University program and we use this to deliver and share materials, as well as to record and upload lectures. Some classrooms have a Smartboard which facilitate teaching with music software and allows for saved lecture notes to be uploaded to the web. For music education students, the smartboards are also used to replicate classroom teaching experiences.
Performing Spaces: In addition to the Kelley Theatre and Wien Black Box Theatre in the Quick Center for the Arts, we also rehearse and perform in Gonzaga Auditorium, the Oak Room of the Barone Campus Center, and our beautiful chapel (as appropriate).
Media Center: The Fairfield University Media Center provides classes, training workshops, and state-of-the-art facilities for students interested in production, recording, and multimedia projects: http://www.fairfield.edu/mc_index.html
