Alumni Job Shadow Program
Do you have a potential career in mind but would like to know more about the day-to-day aspects of the job? The Alumni Job Shadow Program can give you valuable insights into a potential career path.
The Alumni Job Shadow Program is designed to give junior and senior students at Fairfield the unique opportunity to get an inside view of a particular profession or industry near their hometown during winter break. Students apply for the program in the fall semester. Alumni mentors who participate in this program help students see firsthand how skills learned in the classroom relate to the workplace while also building a network of alumni contacts.
Students have been placed in locations as far away as California! So, wherever home may be for you, consider applying, and although no match is guaranteed, we will do our best to find an interested alumni mentor from your local area.
Alumni Job Shadow activities can include:
- Overview of a company, industry, and job
- Notification of internship opportunities
- Introduction to your alumni mentor's colleagues
- Learning more about personal career path of your alumni mentor
- Exploring career options and goals
