The Office of Student Development supports our Jesuit tradition of caring for the whole person by providing opportunities that engage students in meaningful, high impact activities designed for their living and learning experience. Through both curricular and co-curricular experiences, students will be involved in integrative learning opportunities that empower intellectual, spiritual and cultural growth during their time at Fairfield University.
Using Ignatian pedagogy as a foundational guide, the office recognizes the important relationship between experience, reflection and action as a way to understand, interpret and assess the world around us. Working in collaboration with faculty, staff, community members and students, the office of the Dean of Student Development provides seamless educational opportunities for students to develop their leadership as men and women for and with others.
Learning Outcomes: The University strategic plan identifies four foundations for student development that several new and existing initiatives aim to address. Community involvement, vocational discovery, civic engagement and discernment guides and directs co-curricular programs over a student's four years at Fairfield University.
