About the Reference Department

The Reference Department of the DiMenna-Nyselius Library consists of full-time and part-time librarians coming from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, all dedicated to the primary function of helping the University's students, faculty, and staff find the information they need. The Reference Desk, where most of the librarians can be found at some point each day, is located on the Main Floor, near the entrance. Here, one can ask questions, begin or review your research, schedule appointments, or request assistance with the use of any research tool, from books to computers. While Fairfield University is a private institution, the Library and most of its services are open to the public.
Part-time Reference Librarians work at Fairfield University at various times, although mostly evenings and weekends. Most are librarians for other organizations when they're not here. They bring a wealth of information from fields as diverse as corporate and business to elementary education.
