The DiMenna-Nyselius Library was designed by The Stubbins Associates and constructed by Gilbane Building Company. It is 118,00 square feet and has a capacity for 450,000 volumes, with a
seating capacity for 900.

Lower
Level
The entire Lower Level has wireless
Internet access.
Multimedia Viewing Room: 90 seat capacity, podium, computer with projection and fiber optic connections with Internet access.
Information Technology Center (ITC):
- Room 107 C - A state of the art multimedia training facility seating 30, with wireless Internet access.
- Room 107 D - A small meeting room equipped with presentation equipment, accommodating 8-10 people.
Center for Academic Excellence (CAE):
- Offices of the Center for Academic Excellence.
Audiovisual/Microform/Media Storage: 24 carrels with multimedia equipment, reading area.
Collaborative work areas:
5 collaborative work areas are on the lower level in the journal area. They are first come, first served. Their primary purpose is for groups working together who need to project from a laptop. Each work space has a 26" monitor and cabling for a laptop (either the library's or one's personal laptop).

Additional group study rooms are available on the upper level of the Library.
Serials area: print journal collection (current and bound) and microforms. Microform viewing and printing equipment: 9 microform viewing or printing stations.
Periodicals Study Area and Stack Area: 40 seats at tables with task lighting, 20 individual carrels, two sitting areas.
Library Instruction Classroom (Room 114): 30 computer
terminals, instructor's station, multimedia projection equipment.
Computer Lab (Room 115): 30 computer terminals for students' use during library hours, instructor's terminal, one printer. Information on Library computer labs.
Archives: history of Fairfield University, Fairfield Prep including historical documentation, faculty publications, yearbooks, and newspapers.
Lower Level Reading Corridor: 24 study chairs with tablet arms.

Main
Level
The entire Main Level has wireless
Internet access.
Houses the cafe, which is also a 24-hour study space; Interlibrary Services; collection development; cataloging; offices; and staff lounge. Additionally, the following areas are available to patrons:
Student Computer Lab (Room 250): 24-hour access for students, 32 computer carrels, 2 printers. Information on Library computer labs.
Exhibition Lobby: Showcase for items of interest to the University community.
Information Commons: Reference center, public access to the worldwide web, capacity for 36 computers and 6 printers, reading area with task lighting. (photo)
Circulation Desk/Media Desk: provides circulation of general collection, audiovisuals, and course reserves.
Curriculum Collection: houses graduate school educational materials supporting curriculum from kindergarten through high school.
Reading Area and Pod Study Area: sitting area for quiet study, tables, carrels, and 6 seat conference table. Gift from Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph V. Pino, Jr., '73.
Conference Room: meeting space equipped for 20, with fiber optics, audiovisual capabilities, motorized screen, and a white board.
Reference Collection: selective, wide ranging collection of 30,000 volumes.

Upper
Level
The entire Upper Level has wireless Internet access.
Mary Hardy Corrigan Reading Room: seating for 64 at carrels, tables, and sitting areas; large tables equipped with task lighting and fiber optic connections for 96 seats;fine arts collection; main stacks with 50 additional carrels. Gift of E. Gerald Corrigan '63 and The Corrigan Foundation.
Group Study Rooms:
Five rooms accommodating six students and four rooms accommodating 12 students, equipped with cable, fiber optic connections, and VCRs. Additionally, there a 5 collaborative work areas on the lower level of the Library.
Circulating Book Collection: Over 300,000 circulating volumes selected to support the curriculum of the university.
Kress Art Collection (Room 302): 10 old master paintings dating from the mid-14th through the early 18th centuries, representative of the major schools of Italian Renaissance and Baroque painting.
