Image: Vet artWhat: Opening reception for the art exhibition Your Branches Span the Sky, featuring the work of about 50 U.S. veterans participating in the Creative Arts Therapies programs at the Veteran's Administration Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, Conn. The event is free and open to the public and the media.

Where: Leitao Lobby, Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, Connecticut

When: Sunday, January 26, 2014, 1-3 p.m. (rescheduled from Jan. 21 - due to inclement weather)

Details: Your Branches Span the Sky is a collaborative art project between the Creative Arts Therapies at the Veteran's Administration Connecticut Healthcare System and Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts. The project, including the art exhibition running through March 21, 2014, and a related evening of theatre, music and poetry at 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 27, 2014, in the Wien Experimental Theatre, celebrates the efforts of veterans and their dynamic, life-enhancing work.

The Creative Arts Therapies programs at the VA promote wellness, recovery and resilience through music, fine art, drama and creative writing. Some of the artists in the exhibition and VA art therapists will attend the Jan. 26 opening.
