Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist at Fairfield University Bookstore
Pulitzer Prize winner John Darnton of The New York Times will read from and discuss his latest work, "Almost a Family: A Memoir," on Tuesday, April 17 at the Fairfield University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road, Fairfield. This 7 p.m. talk, part of the Inspired Writer series, is free and open to the public and is presented by Fairfield's MFA in Creative Writing.
Darnton has worked for the New York Times for 40 years as a reporter, editor and foreign correspondent. He is the recipient of two George Polk Awards and the author of five novels, including "The Darwin Conspiracy" and the bestseller "Neanderthal."
"Almost a Family," is a deeply personal homage and beautifully crafted memoir of his lifelong chase after his father's shadow, a father he never met who lost his life off the coast of New Guinea in World War II.
