Reilly named MAAC Rookie of the Week
Fairfield University freshman Addie Reilly (Locust Valley, N.Y.) became the third Stag in four weeks to be named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week. The Stags have received a weekly accolade in each of the five weeks that awards have been presented this season.
Reilly, a graduate of The Portledge School, led the Stags with seven points in a 1-1 week. She tallied four of those points in the team's come from behind win over Lehigh on Wednesday. Her second assist of the game led to the game-tying goal and then her second goal of the afternoon proved to be the game-winning tally. Against Hofstra on Saturday, Reilly led the Stags with three goals. Reilly was 2-2 in eight-meter chances on the week and recorded a draw control at Hofstra.
The seven-point week moved Reilly into fourth place on the team with 16 points, despite missing one game. She has touched net 14 times, third on the team and is 3-5 in free-position shots.
Reilly and the Stags return to action on Wednesday, March 23 when they conclude a three-game road swing at Florida. Fairfield is 5-3 on the season.
