Katie Mackay named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Fairfield University's Katie Mackay was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after an outstanding effort in the Stags' two games.
Mackay, a senior, tallied a team-leading 10 points with six goals and four assists as Fairfield (3-1) defeated Holy Cross at home and nearly upset #10/9 James Madison on the road. The attack had a hat trick in each game and went a perfect 3-for-3 in free position attempts.
In Fairfield's 14-5 victory over Holy Cross, Mackay finished with six points, including three goals and three assists. In the Stags' 13-10 near upset of James Madison, she tallied three goals, an assist, and a draw control.
It is the fifth weekly honor for the Stags this season and the second offensive award in three weeks. Chloe Mangan was named Offensive Player of the Week on February 22.
Fairfield returns to action with two home games this week as they host Sacred Heart on March 9 and New Hampshire on March 12.
