Brian Friedlander named MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week
Fairfield University junior Brian Friedlander was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week after winning three events against Bryant University.
Friedlander moved to 6-0 in the 100 breaststroke this year by clocking a time of 1:01.62 against the Bulldogs on November 20. He also won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.58 for his fifth victory in the event in seven meets this season. Friedlander picked up the victory in the 200-yard individual medley as well, registering a time of 2:02.64. In addition, he was the second leg of the men's 400-yard medley relay that posted a time of 3:41.25 to finish as the runner-up.
Friedlander is the first Fairfield men's swimmer to earn at weekly award from the MAAC this season.
The Stags (3-3) return to action on December 3 at the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
