Four decades into a legendary Met career, tenor Domingo makes history singing the title role in Verdi's gripping political thriller, which is written for a baritone. He co-stars with Adrianne Pieczonka, Marcello Giordani and James Morris in this moving and tragic story of a father and his lost daughter. James Levine conducts.

In Anthony Tommasini's Jan. 20 review in The New York Times, he describes Domingo's singing as "... some of his freshest singing in years ... as Boccanegra, he could not wait, it seemed, for the line to soar into the baritone's high register...."
