Linda Eder gets back "To My Natural Musical Self" at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts October 31

Linda Eder won't be dressing up for Halloween. When her fans think of her and her extraordinary voice, they likely think of an elegant beauty dressed in an equally elegant gown singing Broadway tunes or standards. This dynamic talent, however, is filled with surprises born of an itch to grow and on Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. she exposes "the real me" at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts.

Eder has recorded and produced nine solo albums, each a blend of standards, pop hits and original songs showcasing her extravagant vocal gifts. She has long been established as one of America's premier singers of pop standards and Broadway tunes with a large and passionately devoted audience that has embraced her memorable albums and her dramatic live concerts.

Her tenth album, "The Other Side of Me," lays the foundation for the new stage show she brings to the Quick Center and is, as Eder says, "...an album that I've been waiting my whole life to make ... I'm basically a blue-collar farm girl at heart."

Songwriter and keyboardist Billy Jay Stein co-produced and co-arranged this new CD with Eder and the more relaxed vocal style she employs complements her guitar playing and the country-flavored back-up band she fronts. In this return to her pop-country roots, Eder expresses real joy in performing in this musical style and enthuses, "It feels so natural to be doing it this way. I'm up there in a pair of jeans, just bopping around and having fun and I'm able to be the goofy farm girl that I am in real life. That's the real me ... and the feedback I'm getting is - the fans are having fun right along with me."
