The Acting Company performs "Moby Dick Rehearsed," Orson Welles' stage adaptation of the classic novel by Herman Melville. There is a 10 a.m. ArtsBound performance for children, grades 5 and up. Casey Biggs directs Welles' dramatic adaptation of Melville's classic story. Welles drew a parallel between King Lear and Captain Ahab and set the action around a troupe of actors that abandon rehearsal of "King Lear" to recreate another unforgiving, vengeance-obsessed character of the same emotional stripe, Captain Ahab. Tickets for the ArtsBound performance are $7; the evening performance tickets are $30 for adults.
Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery

The Emperor's New Clothes: Contemporary Paintings and Drawings by Donald Vaccino. This exhibition features extraordinary artworks that are done from memory, imagination, observation or a combination of the three. They do not conform to usual expectations in that apparently different styles co-exist. "They are done in the spirit in which a musician practices with the intent of keeping my eye and hand in shape," explains Vaccino. Admission to the gallery is free. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 12-4 p.m. Closed Monday.
