Marsha Alibrandi is an Associate Professor of Secondary Social Studies Education in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Dr. Alibrandi came to Fairfield in 2006, having  previously served as Associate Professor at North Carolna State University from which she retired after nine years.

Prior to her graduate research and teaching at the Unviersity of Massachusetts, Amherst, she taught Social Studies, Geography, Journalism and Computer Technologies for  15 years at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. 

Dr. Alibrandi has directed Environmental Education and Community Service projects on both Cape Cod and throughout the four states of the Connectiucut River for six years with "The River That Connects US" and "River 2000."

Alibrandi is an internationally recognized advocate of integrating technologies for socially and envrionmentally sustainable communities, particularly using geospatial technologies such as GIS, GPS and community mapping. She works with schools to provide professional development for teachers and develop capacity for K-16 students, educators and higher ed institutions.

Dr. Alibrandi has been a trained Mediator for 20 years and serves on the Fairfield Conflict Resolution Consoritum under the direction of Dr. Lucy Katz, Emeritus.
