Professors publish study on value of redevelopment in Greenwich real estate market
A soon-to-be-published study of the Greenwich real estate market found that, historically, up to 10.5 percent of a home's price has reflected the opportunity to redevelop it later. "You're often paying a premium to develop the house, even if you're not planning to do so," said Katsiaryna Salavei, an assistant professor of finance at Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business, who analyzed close to 8,000 single-family home sales in town between 1994 and 2007.
