Focus on Jamaica

Fairfield University is pleased to offer this special on-site experience of Jamaica and its culture. The Blue Mountains and white, sandy beaches, lush tropical foliage and gentle breezes make Jamaica an ideal paradise. The warm and hospitable people and the rich history and culture of the island will make this a memorable experience. You will stay in Ocho Rios, on the north side of the island that stretches along a beautiful bay. Spend an afternoon exploring the scenic Green Grotto Caves, which have provided shelter for Arawak Indians (Tainos) and runaway slaves over the years. You will also spend a day visiting historical sites in the capital city of Kingston. A free afternoon will be allotted for excursions that are not included in the program.
