Jermain Griffin
Associate Director of International Studies
Jermain Griffin is the associate director for international studies.
He brings to the position at Fairfield invaluable field experiences in both Central America and Africa. Most recently he worked as a humanitarian aid worker in Sudan with Mercy Corps, managing an economic recovery program targeting refugees and internally-displaced persons returning to their home after a 21-year civil war. His field experience also includes work in community and youth development with the Peace Corps in El Salvador. In addition, Griffin has two years of experience in local community development. Prior to his work in international and community development, he had a brief stint in journalism, accumulating articles for several media outlets including Dow Jones Newswires and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Griffin holds a Master of Science degree from Illinois State University in Political Science specializing in Applied Community and Economic Development. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Griffin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut. He is a member of the American Political Science Association, International Studies Association and National Peace Corps Association.
