Curriculum Vitae
Research:
My scholarly research has focused on Arab nationalism in Egypt and the Fertile Crescent, and on the representation of Arabs and Muslims in western imaginative and scholarly literature. I have recently turned my attention to the study of radical critiques of religion and religious institutions in the Arab world, and, more particularly, to the study of the work of the Syrian philosopher Sadiq Jalal al-Azm.
