Course (Credit) Transfer

Transfer of credit from another accredited institution of higher learning will be allowed, pending approval by the faculty advisor and the Dean or Associate Dean, if it was completed within a period of five years prior to enrollment and the grade received for the work was B or better and:

1. applicable to a graduate degree at the institution in which it was earned

2. not used toward another graduate degree and

3. appropriate to the student's current Fairfield program

If this transfer of credit is to be applied toward the Certificate of Advanced Study, only graduate work done after completion of the Master's degree and before enrolling at Fairfield will be considered.

Up to six credits may be transferred if they relate to the student's degree program. Selected graduate courses taken at other institutions of higher learning in the field of specialization which are not offered at Fairfield University may be accepted after enrollment, provided the student has written approval of the Dean or Assiociate Dean before registering for such courses and earns a B or better. Courses without prior approval may not be transferred.

Students must complete a Transfer Credit Request Form (with student and faculty advisor signatures) to the Dean's Office for final approval. The Fairfield University course and credit equivalent for the transferred course will be posted to the student's Fairfield transcript.
