Advisement
Advisement is time to meet with the Assistant or Associate Dean for advisement about course selection for the upcoming term and register for courses. This type of advisement is meant for first time non-matriculated students. Students who are matriculated have been assigned a specific faculty advisor and should make direct contact with their advisor to set up an appointment time to discuss academic questions or establish and review their planned program of study or course selection choices.
You'll need to do the following if you decide to start coursework as a Non-Matriculated Student:
- pick up a Non-Matriculated Student Status Application at the Dean's Office (Canisius Hall Room 102) or download it online. You will need to also bring your transcript(s) to the advisement. It can be an unoffical web-generated one or an official one.
- Ask to meet with the Associate Dean for advisement and approval signature.
- Once you have been advised, you will need to have your information entered into the Registration system by a member of the Dean's Office staff. This will declare you as a student and you may then,
- go to Registrar's Office in the Kelley Center to register for coursework.
Faculty are available to talk with students at the Information Sessions given three times a year. At this time, faculty will also advise students about introductory coursework and sign off on their non-matriculated student status application. Applications are available on site.
