Welcome to the Graduate School of Education & Allied Professions

Image: A message from Dean Susan FransozaStudents come to Fairfield's Graduate School of Education & Allied Professions for practical reasons - the small class size and the close relationship with faculty, the breadth and depth of our practica placements, the proximity of our campus in the heart of southern Connecticut, the flexibility and affordability of our programs, and our ability to certify or prepare students for licensure in each program where it applies.

Here we educate scholar-practioners - teachers, counselors, and consultants who work with children and their families, with individuals who need one-on-one help, with schools and other organizations within the community. Our graduates work together to create exemplary learning and organizational environments. But a Fairfield education transcends the sum of these parts. As a Jesuit institution, we are grounded in a 500-year-old tradition of academic rigor, personal reflection, and social justice.

This tradition challenges us to look beyond easy answers, to seek fundamental truths, to honor the importance of intangibles, to look at each student or client as an individual. This extra care and this extra knowledge is the foundation of an inspired life.
