Graduate Admission - Non-matriculated Student Status
If you're not sure you're ready to enroll in a specific program, consider Non-matriculated Student Status. Several programs allow students to take graduate-level courses or earn credits in certificate programs prior to matriculating:
School of Engineering
Applicants with three years of experience as professional software developers or programmers who are interested in earning a certificate or taking a specific course may be admitted on a non-matriculating basis.
Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions
Qualified students may begin studies before completing the formal application process or gaining admission to a degree or certification program. This option provides a wonderful opportunity for qualified students to explore degree options and to confirm personal goals and readiness for graduate study. Qualifications to be considered include a Bachelor's degree (required) and other qualifications related to your preparedness for graduate-level studies in the field of interest to you. If approved, students may take a total of six credits in certification programs and nine credits in non-certification programs before matriculation is required.

School of Nursing
Applicants must submit a written request to the dean specifying the semester for which this status is requested, verifying they have an earned baccalaureate (or higher) degree, and noting their undergraduate (and graduate, if applicable) GPA. A completed application form must accompany this letter of request.
