Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance/Recruiting Coordinator
This individual will oversee the day-to-day compliance responsibilities of the Athletics Departments 20 varsity sports to insure compliance with NCAA, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and Fairfield University rules and regulations. In keeping with the University's Jesuit mission and identity, candidates must be committed to the equity, welfare, and sporting conduct of our student-athletes. This position also acts as the Athletics Department Recruiting Coordinator acting as the liaison with the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, coaches and prospective student-athletes. The successful candidate shall have a Bachelor's degree, demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance procedures, excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong computer/internet skills. Assistant to the President
The Assistant to the President will work with the President and the Executive Vice President to support the meetings and initiatives of the Board of Trustees and assist in other projects in the Office of the President. Under the direction of senior management, the responsibilities of this position include preparation and distribution of Board materials and minutes, drafting policies and resolutions for Board consideration, and performing administrative duties in support of various Board initiatives. The Assistant to the President will develop and maintain computer-based systems to support the Board, including a web site and a Board membership database. Additionally, this position will manage all meeting logistics and coordinate special Board events.
The Assistant to the President will interact with members of the Board of Trustees, as well as with all levels of management throughout the institution, thereby necessitating tact, diplomacy and confidentiality at all times. Candidates must possess an understanding of administrative and governance structure of a college or university, solid research and analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent computer skills. Director, Computing & Network Services
Fairfield University is seeking an experienced Information Technology manager to be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Computing & Network Services department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of hiring, training and supervising Computing and Network Services staff; managing and developing budgets for the various components of IT Services, and maintaining state of the art instructional technology and networking innovations in an academic environment.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related business field is required. A Master's degree in a similar field of study is highly desirable.
Position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in the field of information systems, with at least five years of experience in an academic environment. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of academic, instructional and administrative computing; possess excellent communication skills, maintain a mentoring management style; and be a motivated self-starter. The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and various other campus constituents by fostering an excellent customer service program and timely response to inquiries and service needs.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures appropriate for a technical support field is necessary, especially the availability of new hardware and technology. The individual we seek must be a strong decision maker, capable of providing creative strategies in response to the IT needs of the entire campus, and influencing major technology decisions and direction of the department and university.

Network Manager
The Network Manager is responsible for the overall systems and server planning to include Windows and Mac platforms, for the campus information technology structure and ensures overall systems and server functionality and reliability. Hires, trains and supervises Systems Administrator, Senior Systems Administrator and Admin Systems Support Specialist position(s). Keeps up-to-date on information technology innovations, responds to systems issues and security breaches and advises on user and administrative use of the network. In addition, provides assistance to the various information technology groups. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a technical field and a Master's degree is preferred. However, the formal degree may be waived if the candidate has the equivalent related experience in a pertinent technical field. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of multi-platform server solutions and physical and logical network infrastructure. Needs excellent communication skills, a good sense of humor and should have or be willing to develop a mentor management style. Must be a motivated self-starter especially in the area of learning new hardware and technology and have excellent customer service orientation toward internal staff and campus users. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures appropriate for a technical support field is required as well as a wide degree of creativity and willingness to provide input into the major decisions and direction of the department.
