Academic Program

NYSEPart of the College of Arts and Sciences, economics is an excellent example of a real-world discipline, where the claims of theory are tested constantly by the everyday experience of the marketplace. Economists are always in demand by businesses (both profit and non-profit), research and teaching institutions, and government agencies. Students of economics are empowered to build bridges between a broad liberal arts curriculum and both their major and chosen field of work.

studentsCourses are designed to develop the student's reasoning capacity and analytical ability. Students majoring in economics chose between a bachelor of arts degree or a bachelor of science degree. Increasingly, economics faculty members are engaging students with various uses of technology in the classroom. Students may also minor in economics by completing three additional courses beyond their social science core requirement.
