Father Conlisk Scholarship:

The Father Conlisk Scholarship was set up in honor of the late Father John Conlisk. Father John graduated from Fairfield Prep before going onto the seminary. He was a first-generation Irish American whose parents emigrated from Galway and Mayo in 1927. He was a priest for 28 years in the local diocese of Bridgeport and a cancer victim at the age of 54.

The Irish Scholarship Committee at Fairfield University named the scholarship program in his memory. His brother Kevin Conlisk heads the scholarship committee and is a current trustee of the University.

The scholarship was created to encourage Irish business students to apply directly from Ireland to further their education in the U.S. The Scholarship is awarded each year to an MBA or MS in Finance candidate from Ireland.

The scholarship pays full tuition, room, and board as well as medical insurance expenses for the time it takes to complete the degree (usually 3 semesters). The value of the Scholarship is worth approximately $50,000.

Candidates for the The Father Conlisk scholarship are usually nominated or recommeded by the Career Planning Director from their undergraduate school in Ireland.
