This webpage is dedicated to the promotion of the development of faculty, staff, and students in the area of Information Technology.
Below, you will find a brief description of what each department within the division of Information Services is doing to develop IT skills within the University community. Under each description, a link to that department's training initiative has been provided.
Administrative Computing (Sungard H.E)
Banner and StagWeb training, as well as other project-specific classes, are offered many times during the year. The schedule of training classes includes a brief description of the class, pre-requisites necessary for attendance, the capability for making reservations on-line, and training documents. One-on-one sessions are always available! For more information, please e-mail bannertraining@mail.fairfield.edu (for Banner) or swsession@stagweb.fairfield.edu (for StagWeb). You can also request a training session by logging into StagWeb, going to the Fairfield Bookmarks channel, and clicking on the Banner/StagWeb Training link.

Computing and Network Services (C&NS)
With the understanding that a computer is only as good as the person using it, C&NS offers a range of basic software training courses to try and help increase the efficiency and productivity of all faculty and staff at the University. In coordination with the Office of Human Resources, the C&NS training initiative has a goal to close the communication and computer skills gap that currently exists on campus. Our objective is to make users aware of the options and features available in Microsoft Office, the Windows and Macintosh operating systems, and other software programs and topics as needed by the University community.
Upcoming training classes are announced through the daily University Announcements e-mail, distributed to all faculty and staff. If you have a particular request for a training session for your department or division, please contact Jeff Potocki, Software Support Specialist, at ext. 4069, or send an e-mail to cnstraining@mail.fairfield.edu. C&NS will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate departments in their needs for training.

DiMenna-Nyselius Library
The DiMenna-Nyselius Library offers research assistance to all students, faculty and staff throughout the year. We know our students, faculty and staff lead busy lives, so we offer many convenient ways to access research help.

2. Online Guides and Tutorials - The Library offers numerous online Research Guides to aid students in their research, such as citation guides and course specific guides, as well as online tutorials. Visit our Research Guides and Tutorials page at http://www.fairfield.edu/lib_guides.html.
3. Classes - Librarians teach research classes during scheduled class time in collaboration with faculty. Faculty may schedule a class by going to http://www.fairfield.edu/lib_scheduleaclass.html.
4. Workshops - Workshops on current topics of interest are scheduled during the year; past workshops focused on blogs, RSS feeds and Google Scholar. If you would like to suggest a topic, please e-mail the Reference Desk at reference@mail.fairfield.edu. We would love to hear your suggestions.

Media Center
The Media Center conducts introductory to intermediate and advanced new-media and digital application workshops in its RCADE Lab in Xavier Hall, Room G-15. The workshops are free to students, faculty, and staff of Fairfield University; are held on scheduled days between 5:00-6:30 p.m.; and are taught on Apple Macintosh G5 computers.

The Resource Center for Advanced Digital Exploration workshops offer an opportunity for Fairfield University staff, faculty and students to explore new media technologies for research, teaching, artistic work, or just to learn something new and exciting. We look forward to seeing you ... !
