iTunes music event held

A recent survey of computer users shows that the illegal sharing of music files on the internet is decreasing as the legal options grow in number and sophistication. Since college students have traditionally been the worst offenders in the downloading of music - and colleges themselves have been a favorite target of recording industry lawsuits - Fairfield again encouraged students to "Listen Legally" by holding an iTunes music event on September 9th in the Barone Campus Center.

The event featured free CD copies of the iTunes software, demonstrations of the iTunes Music Store, and information on how to legally share iTunes songs with friends on the network. As an added feature, six new iPods, the most popular digital music player in the world, were raffled off to current students. The event was sponsored by Computing & Network Services as part of Apple Computer's iTunes on Campus program.
