Campus Recruiting

On-Campus recruiting for seniors at Fairfield takes place in the Fall semester during October, November and December, and in February and March during the Spring semester. On-campus recruiting for junior summer internships also takes place during February and March. Interviews are not scheduled during exams or when school is not in session.

Depending upon the job market, 100 to 130 organizations choose Fairfield University to participate in the on-campus recruiting program. These organizations represent major firms within the metro region including financial services, management consulting, and marketing/communication organizations. Many of these organizations also recruit students in junior year to participate in their summer internship programs.

We invite you to participate in any of our recruiting programs. We are committed to working with you to help you become a partner with us in hiring top quality entry level people.

The Fairfield University Career Planning Center is now using eRecruiting.com to coordinate the campus recruiting process. eRecruiting.com enables the employer to review applicant resumes continuously up to the application deadline. It also allows you to view your schedule for the dates you have reserved with us to conduct campus interviews.

How does it work?
Students submit resumes via a web based database called eRecruiting. You have access to resumes to review and select students, whom you would like to interview through this eRecruiting system. You can contact students directly through e-mail to sign up for an interview time. You are then able to view your schedule online.

Employers interested in arranging campus interview dates are encouraged to phone (203) 254-4081 or e-mail fberry@mail.fairfield.edu.

Employer Presentations

Presentations are open invitations from employers to all juniors and seniors to promote their respective organization to the student body. They are held at least 3 weeks before the campus interview date to allow students the opportunity to learn about the organization and the positions they are seeking to fill.

Interview Preparation  Sessions

These are meetings usually schedule the evening before the recruiting date. These sessions are open to the students who have been selected to interview. In general employers cover material that otherwise would be repeated at the time of the interview. Employers email selected students to invite them for the Information Session.

Both Presentations and Information Sessions need to be scheduled through the Career Planning Center so that room reservations can be made. Since at times space is limited reservations are made on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that we can to accommodate employer requests.

Advertising

These programs are advertised through the eRecruiting database which is accessible to all juniors and seniors. In addition organizations may wish to place an ad in the student newspaper, The Mirror. To place an ad employers should contact the Business and Advertising department of The Mirror at (203) 254-4000 ext. 3121 at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

The CPC also is available to assist in placing posters or flyers around campus. These need to be received by the CPC 2 weeks prior to the event for distribution.

Media Equipment and Catering

The Interview Day

The Career Planning Center opens at 8 a.m., a half-hour before first interviews. Complimentary lunch is offered. The Career Planning Center Recruiting Coordinator greets recruiters with the day's schedule(s). Employers are asked to bring copies of the student resumes they have selected for interviewing.

Information Packets are presented to employers by the Career Planning Center Recruiting Coordinator. These include student interview feedback forms and a survey about Career Planning Center services. This information is collected by a member of the counseling staff when debriefing the interviewers at the end of their visit.

Parking is available in the parking lot directly in front of the building or behind the building. Recruiters should fill out the temporary parking permit and make a hard copy to place on their dashboard during the day of their visit.
