Are you a PC or Mac computer user?
Why not be both and win an iPod shuffle!

In the past, you could only run Microsoft Windows on a PC like Dell, Gateway, Hewlett Packard, and Compaq. Now you can run Microsoft Windows on a Mac. A recent innovation in software and hardware has allowed the newest Apple computers to run multiple operating systems. This has begun to revolutionize the way we use computers.

Installing and running Windows on a Mac is as easy as installing Windows on a PC. One of the largest benefits is having the best of both worlds. Not only can you only use Windows on the Mac, but you can run both operating systems at the same time! That's right! Create a file in Garage Band or iMovie on the Mac side and easily move it to the Windows side. Create a Windows file on the Windows side and move it to the Mac side. It's as easy as drag and drop!

Fairfield University is implementing the use of dual-boot Macs on campus. New iMacs that have Windows and the Mac operating system are being installed in the University computer labs. Computer users who are up for a new computer purchase can choose to get a Mac that can run Windows. If you are interested in seeing how this works or if you are a Faculty or Staff member who is thinking of getting a new computer, come on down to see how running Windows on a Mac works. Faculty and Staff who stop by can register to win an iPod shuffle!

Computing and Network Services will be demonstrating Windows on a Mac with desktop and laptop Mac computers on the ground floor of the Campus Center on May 1st and May 2nd from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. In addition to running Windows on a Mac, C&NS will also be demonstrating the use of Podcasting on campus. Faculty or Staff who are interested in Podcasting or how iPods can be used in education and administration can also come on down and have your questions answered by C&NS. We can demonstrate how Campus Lectures, Athletics, the Library, Admissions, and Faculty are using Podcasting in their respective areas.

Don't miss this great opportunity to see some new and cool technology. We hope to see you there!
