Xythos Storage & Protecting University Data

Xythos is a centralized, secure service for storing and sharing folders, files and documents for both Mac and Windows users. Stored files and folders can be accessed through an internet connection and any browser (Xythos Web Access) or through software (Xythos Drive) installed on your University computer (Faculty & Staff). VPN and Remote Desktop Connections are not needed for access.

Xythos is currently being used by increasing numbers of individuals and Departments as a network storage solution for important work information. Maintaining University data and keeping it secure has become even more important in today’s world of electronic information and Xythos is the C&NS recommended solution for storing and securing our data.

Alternative methods of data storage (such as External Hard Drives, USB Drives, CD and DVD burning, 3rd party cloud storage, etc) will also be demonstrated and discussed during the workshop as options for those who are interested.

This is a 2 hour hands-on workshop. Please join us to learn more about Xythos’ usefulness and about how to better protect University data.
