Resources and Training

With the understanding that a computer is only as good as the person using it, C&NS offers a range of basic software training courses to try and help increase the productivity of all faculty and staff at the University. The C&NS offices in Dolan Commons feature a dedicated training room equipped with 12 Dell PCs and 12 Apple iBooks to provide cross-platform classes on both Windows and Macintosh software packages. Among the classes that have been offered in this room are Basic File Management, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Entourage, Introduction to Mac OS X, Introduction to FileMaker, and Microsoft Access.

Upcoming training classes are announced through the daily University Announcements e-mail, distributed to all faculty and staff. If you have a particular request for a training session for your department or division, please send an e-mail to cnstraining@fairfield.edu. C&NS will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate departments in their needs for training; please understand, however, that C&NS does not have the staff to develop specialized training courses beyond those in the standard Windows and Macintosh operating systems or in the basic Microsoft Office suite of products.
