What is a NetID?

A NetID is your username (or "user ID") and password combination, which allows access to a variety of University services, including e-mail, StagWeb, ANGEL, Xythos, iTunes U, etc. The NetID username is not case sensitive when used as a login credential. Your NetID username is generated from University records and typically includes some combination of your first, middle, and last names or initials.

Important Note: Your NetID username is not the same as your Fairfield University ID number, as found on your StagCard.

Your NetID will remain active for the entirety of your time at the University. Students, faculty, and staff who leave the University will hve their NetIDs deactivated.

Eligibility for NetID

All Fairfield University students, faculty, and staff must have a valid University ID number in order to activate and keep their NetID account and its related services. Having a valid Fairfield University ID number does not mean that you must possess a physical StagCard.

To be considered for a NetID account, one of the following must be true:

  • You must be a student in active standing;
  • You must have an official, current, active Fairfield University appointment or job;
  • You must be an officially retired faculty member having provided 15 years of continuous service at the University;
  • You must be an officially recognized University research affiliate.
