Schedule is flexible

Volunteers are paired with three or four residents whom they visit with each week at the Bridgeport Health Care Center. Sometimes even just a simple "hello" can make a person's day. Volunteers play cards, participate in arts and crafts, music, and other activities, and simply visit with the residents.

Health Promotion Center

Schedule is flexible

The Health Promotions Center (HPC) is a project of the Fairfield University School of Nursing. This is a great volunteer opportunity for nursing and pre-med students, but all students are invited to participate. The HPC does outreach in the City of Bridgeport, specifically in the local schools. After some training, volunteers help to facilitate health fairs in addition to presentations on nutrition, exercise, healthy eating, and more.
