Fairfield was very fortunate to have two creative artists working on The R&J Project. Sisters Barbra and Sonya Berlovitz joined us for the spring semester of 2010 to produce the play.

Barbra Berlovitz is one of the three founders of the 2005 TONY award-winning theatre company Theatre de la Jeune Lune, founded in Paris, France. She has studied with renowned artists Jacques Lecoq in France and vocal trainer Patsy Rodenburg in England. Barbra has directed and co-directed numerous plays for Jeune Lune and other companies including:
- A Midsummer Night's Dream
- Twelfth Night
- Cabaret
- King Lear
- Eleutheria
She is also a noted actress and has played many classical leads including:
- Gertrude in Shakespeare's Hamlet
- Euripides's Medea in the title role
- Roles in Tartuffe, Antigone, and The Three Musketeers
She has won several awards including the "Dayton Hudson Distinguished Teacher/Visiting Artist in Theatre" in 2008.
Sonya Berlovitz, Costume Designer

Sonya Berlovitz has designed costumes for over 50 Jeune Lune productions including:
- Hamlet
- Medea
- Tartuffe
- The Miser
- The Magic Flute
She also designed costumes for other productions including:
- Alice in Wonderland
- Grimm's Tales
- Snow Queen
Sonya studied fashion and painting at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has appeared in numerous exhibitions and she has won many awards including the "San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Costume Design" in 2000.
