Diane Allison '75
Diane is a partner in the firm of Gunn, Godfrey and Allison, and concentrates in the area of individual clients and foundations. She specializes in estate planning, trusts and estate administration, and taxation of trusts and estates. She is a graduate of Fairfield University, a B.S. in Accounting Summa Cum Laude, 1975 and was the recipient of a Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants Award as the outstanding accounting graduate. She is also a graduate of the University of Bridgeport School of Law (JD., 1990), graduating first in her class. Diane is admitted to the Bar of Connecticut (1990), and is a Certified Public Accountant (1977). She received numerous academic awards during her accounting and law school career. Prior to entering the field of law, she was with the international accounting firm of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche LLP) for eleven years, and received an invitation to join the partnership. She and her husband left Deloitte to form their own CPA firm, Allison & Godfrey, in Westport, in 1986, and subsequently became partners with Attorney Colin Gunn, a long time Westport practitioner.
Diane is Executive Director of the Educational Foundation of America and Vice-Chair of Norwalk Hospital Board of Trustees. She has formerly served on the Boards of the Native American Preparatory School, Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Music and Arts Center for the Handicapped, Bridgeport, Connecticut, the American Red Cross, New Haven Chapter, Connecticut, Human Services Council of Fairfield County, and United Way of Westport/Weston, Connecticut. Diane served on The Fairfield University Trustee Advisory Council from inception to 2008. She and her husband, David L. Godfrey, live in Westport with their two sons, Charles and Andrew Allison-Godfrey.
