Celebration of Community-Engaged Scholarship at Fairfield - "Student Learning and Development at the Crossroads"
Tuesday, February 14, 2012
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Library 107c
This interdisciplinary panel explores both the commonalities and the more idiosyncratic outcomes for undergraduates engaged in service learning experiences with low income preschoolers, middle school students, and adults in Hospice respectively. Their research tested the hypothesis that some student learning outcomes (affective and cognitive) are particular to the unique developmental pairing of college students transitioning into adulthood with community populations at varying stages of life and development. Panelists include: Patricia Calderwood, GSEAP; Michael Pagano, Communication Department; Judy Primavera, Psychology Department. Co-sponsored by the Office of Service Learning and the Center for Academic Excellence. Lunch will be provided.
