Re-envisioning Peer Review of Teaching: Poster Presentations & Dialogue (Fac. Dev't Day)
Tuesday, December 13, 2011
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Black Box Theater (Quick Center for the Arts)
Have you experienced effective peer review of your teaching?
Do you want the chance to provide input as colleagues rethink peer review systems campus-wide?
Join us for a discussion of developing models and provide your feedback at our semi-annual Faculty Development Day. Several campus teams are working this academic year with their departments; they are looking beyond traditional classroom observations and student ratings to more collaborative and educative approaches to peer review, such as sharing and discussing syllabi, assessments, teaching philosophies and student work.
Come help with your ideas as we rethink our peer review of teaching processes and learn how to get involved. We'll ask you to submit feedback in exchange for a chance at some fun raffle prizes! You'll also get a nice lunch, time to chat with colleagues, and some yummy desserts.
Co-hosted by the Faculty Development & Evaluation Committee, and the 2011-12 CAE/FDEC Peer Review of Teaching pilot teams:
• Bill Abbott (History) & Angela Harkins (Religious Studies) -- College of Arts and Sciences cross-departmental team
• Laura Nash, Marice Rose, Lynne Porter (Visual & Performing Arts)
• Meredith Wallace Kazer, Dee Lippman, Diane Mager, Jackie Conelius, Joyce Shea (Nursing)
• Pat Calderwood, Paula Gill-Lopez, Tracey Robert, Emily Smith (GSEAP)
