FDEC Faculty Development Day: Student Engagement

The topic for the fall 2010 Faculty Development Day is SUPPORTING STUDENT ENGAGEMENT! Come discuss various ways that you can engage and stimulate students intellectually. Our plenary speaker is Beth Boquet, Dean of Academic Engagement. There will be three simultaneous breakout sessions which will be repeated: (1) undergraduate advising as mentoring with Laura Nash; (2) cultivating research and writing skills at the graduate level with Betsy Bowen; (3) creating engaging assignments that cultivate research skills at the undergraduate level with Jessica McCullough. Our day will conclude with a final plenary discussion.
