FLC Orientation: Getting Going

- 2:00 PM
Alumni House

Faculty conversations, like most meeting dynamics, often challenge us to accommodate each other's varying styles of personality, learning and even epistemology or knowledge framework. This workshop will help you and your fellow FLC-ers revisit your individual and group goals or expected outcomes, begin to consider group norms like how to protect start and end times, and even entertain ways to use diverse styles like introverted and extroverted thinking, degree of planning vs. spontaneity, and personal affection vs. professional distance--to the advantage of all. Expect interactive activities and handouts, as usual, including optional activities for a year-long process, ways to prepare for the other all-FLC meetings such as the mid-year report (on a reading day in Dec.), and pathways and pitfalls in group dynamics.
