Welcome to the Club Baseball Team
The Club Baseball Team is in its seventh year as an organization. The team officially was recognized as a sports club within the Fairfield University Department of Recreation during the 2007-08 academic year.
The program plays in the New England Club Baseball Association (NECBA) competing against teams such as Holy Cross, Northeastern, American International, Yale, Boston University and other colleges in the area.
The Stags play a highly competitive fall season, with practices during the week and doubleheaders on the weekends. During the winter months, practices are held to keep players in shape, throwing multiple times during the week and possibly spending some time in the batting cages.
During the spring season, doubleheaders are played against other area teams. These contests are considered non-league games. Nonetheless, it is a competitive level of baseball, including 2 or 3 doubleheaders.

2011 Fall Season in Review
Fairfield concluded another successful club season in the NECBA. Playing an 11-game regular season, the Stags finished atop the South Division with an unblemished record of 11 - 0.
With the 1st place finish, Fairfield automatically qualified for the playoffs. The Stags were defeated by Boston University in the NECBA championship game.
Fairfield was again well represented on the NECBA All-Star squad, with four players earning a spot.
2011 NECBA South Division All-Stars
Pitching (MVP) - Connor Fleming '12
Batting MVP - Ryan Mesloh '12
Infielder - Christopher Mannion '12
Pitcher - Tim Smith '13
Connor Fleming finished his four years at Fairfield with a special recognition from the NECBA. Connor was the first player ever inducted into the newly-formed NECBA Hall of Fame.
Connor "Dad" Fleming was a phenomenal pitcher throughout all four years of his club baseball career. Consistently a top pitcher in the NECBA, Fleming led Fairfield to three straight division titles and into the championship game in his senior year. His best performance was in the 2011 playoffs, when he came into a tie game in the top of the 5th inning with one out in the semifinals, and threw 8 2/3 innings without giving up an earned run until Fairfield won it in the bottom of the 14th. He then proceeded to start the championship game, putting up two more scoreless innings. He also threw a perfect game against Bard in the 2010 season. Connor was a three-time pitching MVP from 2009-11. He is one of the best pitchers the NECBA has ever had.
With strong officer leadership, club baseball will continue to be a viable club for years to come at Fairfield. Go Stags!
