Women's Club Volleyball
The Fairfield Women's Club Volleyball team has been an integral component of the Department of Recreation for the past several years. Membership has ranged from 14 to 20 persons, with elected officers serving the club during the academic year. The club competes in both the spring and fall semesters, entering tournaments across New England and as far south as the University of Delaware.
The team is a proud member of the Northeast Women's Volleyball Club League (NWVCL) Opposing clubs include universities such as Cornell, UConn, Boston University, and Northeastern. On weekends, regional tournaments provide an excellent opportunity for clubs to play competitive volleyball in a fun, safe, and organized environment.
The Stags concluded a very successful season this spring, finishing in 2nd place in the NWVCL Blue Division, just behind Temple University.
In tournament play, the club went on to win the championship trophy of the Blue Division held at Cortland Sate University of New York. Besides winning their division, the team, as a group, received the Most Outstanding Accomplishment Award from the NWVCL
The Stags look forward to another season of competition during the 2012-13 academic year.
