Men's Basketball Collects "Program Win" In First Round Of NIT
There are certain wins that can define a program or at least where the program is now in relation to where it has been. Last Tuesday's victory against Colorado State University in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament was one of those wins.
"This is a program win," Head Coach Ed Cooley said after the game. "This is the type of win that receives a lot of attention because it was on the national stage."
The Stags play Kent State in NIT round two action on Sunday, March 20 at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard, game time 12:30 p.m. Read more >>
Softball Freshman Off To Hot Start
Kimi Kurata has always considered herself to be a singles hitter, just trying to put the ball into the gap and get on base. But ask her Fairfield University softball teammates and they are likely to describe her in a completely different manner.
In five games at the Wolfpack Challenge early this season, Kurata hit .455 with three homeruns. She blasted the game-winning homer against Charleston Southern, poking a two-run shot in the top of the seventh inning to break up a 2-2 tie. She finished the tournament with a .571 on-base percentage and five RBI. Read more >>

Q: While in high school, what was it about Fairfield University that stood out for you?
A: Being from Long Island, I had known a bunch of current and former students that attended Fairfield. I had heard a lot of great things about the school and when I finally came to visit I got a great feel for the student body and the academics. The one-hour distance from home has allowed me to go home if necessary and my parents get to come to every game. Read more >>

Dear Friends,
The month of March can be considered the gateway to spring as several rituals mark the start of the new season. For example, we gladly surrender an hour of sleep when we turn the clocks forward for daylight saving time because we know we will have an extra hour of daylight for the upcoming months. Read more...
