Before there were pirates in the Caribbean or raiders of the lost ark, there was Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days - the mother of all adventure stories. Come experience America's oldest theatre, in Walnut Street Theatre's presentation of Verne's famous tale of ships, trains, and caravans. It's 1872 and our eccentric hero, Phileas Fogg, is racing across continents and oceans, dodging death, storms, and detectives, as he tries to circle the world against the clock. With his trusty valet, Passepartout, at his side, Fogg accepts a wager from members of London's Reform Club and hits the rails and high seas. The police, hot on Fogg's trail, suspect him in a massive bank robbery, setting up a journey full of twists and turns. Mark Brown's thrilling adaptation is a whirlwind trip filled with exotic locales, narrow escapes, and great fun.
