As the founding director of the Association for Research into Crimes against Art, Charney's work in the field of art crime has been praised in such international forums as The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, BBC, National Public Radio, Vogue, and Vanity Fair, among many others. Charney is the author of numerous articles and the international best-selling novel, The Art Thief (Atria 2007). Recently a Visiting Lecturer at Yale University, Charney is now Professor of Art History at The American University of Rome.
