Educational Outreach
Diocese of Bridgeport Teacher's Workshop, Grades 5-8
Held Thursday, October 4, 2007
This workshop focused on the implementation of a multi-disciplinary educational unit designed to coincide with The Creative Photograph in Archaeology exhibition at Fairfield University. Utilizing resources from The Acropolis Restoration Service in Athens, teachers will be able to guide students as they discover Ancient Greek culture through art, math, and history. Students of participating teachers will also have the opportunity to view the exhibition, engage in a "scavenger hunt," and finally take part in a Diocesan-wide architectural photography competition.
All teachers attending the workshop will be able to borrow the educational kits, on loan to St. Ann School, for use within their classrooms. These kits were given to Fairfield University's Art History Program by the Department of Information and Education of the Acropolis Restoration Service.
